The A FILM BY website is architected from the ground up as a local-first, client-side screenwriting environment. Your screenplay projects, scene breakdowns, character profiles, dialogue lines, drafts, and creative notes are created, formatted, and processed directly within your local browser memory and database.

We do not require you to create an online account, provide an email address, or log in to use the screenplay workspace.

2. Information You Enter

While using the website, you may enter screenwriting and project data, including:

• Screenplay titles, loglines, genres, synopses, and production notes
• Scene headings, action blocks, character cues, parentheticals, dialogue, transitions, and shots
• Character biographies, dramatic arcs, dialogue metrics, and audition sides
• Location lists, scene sheets, idea pad twists, and revision histories
• Author name or production company details you voluntarily configure

This information is processed exclusively within your browser session to render screenplay formatting, calculate page estimates, generate analytical reports, and produce PDF exports.

3. Local Storage Architecture & Data Retention

A FILM BY website stores your screenplays and editor settings locally on your device using standard web browser storage.

Zero Server Storage: Your screenplay content is never automatically transmitted to, processed by, or stored upon any server operated by the developer. All writing occurs entirely offline on your client device once the page assets are loaded.

Data Retention Notice: Because data is held in browser-local storage, clearing your browser storage, utilizing incognito/private windows, resetting browser data, or switching devices will not automatically carry over your stored projects.

How to Clear Stored Data: You can purge all locally stored screenplays at any time directly through your web browser's privacy settings (under "Clear Browsing Data" or "Manage Site Data" for this domain). Warning: Clearing browser storage permanently erases all local screenplays and draft histories that have not been previously exported as .afilmby backups or PDF files. You are solely responsible for maintaining regular backups of your screenplay work.

4. Author Profile & Preferences

If you configure optional author, director, or production company names within project settings, this metadata is stored strictly within your local browser database alongside the active screenplay project. It is included on the cover page and headers during PDF export only if you enable those export options.

5. Profile Graphics & Media

If you attach a project icon or avatar within the website interface, the image is rendered and held locally using client-side object URLs or local browser storage. The website does not transmit your personal graphic files to any external server.

6. Project Import and Export Capabilities

The website provides verified file import and export tools designed for standalone preservation and Android interoperability:

• Export Formats: Industry-standard PDF documents (including full screenplay scripts, scene sheets, and project reports) and complete .afilmby project backups.
• Import Formats: .afilmby project backups and legacy backup files. Note: PDF import and Fountain format interchange are not supported on the website.

All file imports and exports are initiated explicitly by you. When you download a PDF or project package, the file is saved directly to your local device download folder. When you explicitly share or email an exported file using another application, that file becomes governed by the privacy practices of the recipient platform you choose.

Device Synchronization: Website projects and Android application projects do not automatically synchronize over the air. You can manually transfer projects between the website and Android app by exporting and importing .afilmby project files.

7. Contact and Support Inquiries

If you reach out to the developer via email for technical assistance or feedback, your message is transmitted directly via your chosen email client to:

Your support messages and email address are used solely to assist you, troubleshoot reported issues, and answer questions. We do not sell, rent, or share your contact details.

8. Advertising and Analytics Disclosure

Current Website Status: The A FILM BY website currently does not display commercial advertisements, does not run advertising cookies, and has no third-party tracking or analytics scripts active. Screenplay authoring operates with zero telemetry.

Future Advertising Disclosure (AdSense Readiness): In the future, the website may introduce contextual or display advertising (such as Google AdSense) to support ongoing free access and development. If and when advertising is deployed:

Because your screenplays reside in your local browser, you maintain absolute control over your intellectual property:

• You can add, edit, duplicate, or delete scenes, characters, and entire screenplays at any time from the Workspace.
• You can export full project packages (.afilmby) or PDF documents to your local filesystem.
• You can clear your browser storage or site cookies to completely remove all locally stored data.
